On July 15, we delivered our findings during the Discovery Phase of the Modernising Energy Data Access competition.
Over the past 7 weeks, we have engaged numerous industry stakeholders to understand what action is needed to move the industry towards greater data coordination. The overwhelming consensus is that “public data” does not mean “accessible data”, and that there is a need for a decentralised, open approach to improving data access. For the Alpha Phase, we are committed to developing the on-ramp needed to enable improved access to public data, but also to developing the tools and mechanisms needed to securely share and map privately held data. Full materials from Electron’s Show and Tell presentation are included in the link below.
If chosen to advance to the Alpha Phase, we will put our findings into action and develop new prototypes that enable:
– improved access to public network and distributed energy resource data-sets
– publicly accessible enterprise search tools for public energy data
– public/private data tools
If you would like to be involved in field-testing our future prototypes, or would like to share your needs for a future data-enabled markets, please get in touch at mailto:info@electron.org.uk
